Hasanuddin University (Unhas) held a Medical Check-up activity today for all academicians, including lecturers, staff, and their spouses. This activity aims to increase health awareness and support the welfare of campus members in carrying out academic and non-academic activities.

The activity at several points on the Unhas campus was in collaboration with the Unhas Teaching Hospital. This medical check-up includes various basic health checks, such as checking blood pressure, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, and other laboratory tests aimed at detecting diseases early.

The Unhas Board of Trustees Chairman enthusiastically welcomed the Unhas leadership’s policy. On the sidelines of the implementation of MCU activities in the Rectorate building, Prof. Andi Alimuddin Unde, who is also a lecturer in Communication Science at the Faculty of ISIPOL Unhas, expressed his appreciation, “This activity is beneficial to find out if there are health problems early to find solutions to prevent the disease from getting worse,” said the professor who is often called Prof. Unde.

In addition to health checks, this activity also includes socialization on the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including a good diet, regular exercise, and effective stress management. This activity is expected to help prevent non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart problems, which are often overlooked in daily routines.

Medical check-ups are arranged with an organized queuing system not to disrupt teaching and learning activities. The university also makes it easy for the academic community to register and participate in this activity according to a predetermined schedule. This activity is part of Hasanuddin University’s commitment to improve the quality of life and support the welfare of all academicians in the long term.
