Makassar, February 9, 2026 – MWA, through the Hasanuddin University Rector Election Committee (PPR), has determined that the inauguration of the Hasanuddin University Rector for the 2026–2030 term will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Baruga A.P. Pettarani, Hasanuddin University. This decision was the result of an agreement reached at the PPR meeting held on Monday, February 9, 2026.

The decision to hold the inauguration on that date was made in consideration of compliance with the terms of office of the Rector of Hasanuddin University for the 2022–2026 period, which ends on April 27, 2026. The PPR emphasized that an inauguration before that date could potentially cause controversy and would not be in line with the provisions stated in the Rector’s Decree, which is still in effect.

The inauguration of the Rector of Hasanuddin University will be held during an Extraordinary Open Plenary Meeting of the Board of Trustees (MWA), with a series of events arranged in a solemn and structured manner. The inauguration agenda includes the reading of the MWA Decree on the dismissal and appointment of the Rector, the taking of the oath of office, the signing of the integrity pact and performance statement, and the handover of office from the Rector for the 2022–2026 term to the Rector for the 2026–2030 term.

In order to ensure the smooth running and quality of the event, PPR plans to use the services of an Event Organizer (EO) that includes the provision of a sound system and other technical support. The EO procurement mechanism will be carried out through official coordination with the Logistics Directorate of Hasanuddin University.

In addition, PPR also plans to involve various strategic stakeholders, including relevant ministries, leaders of domestic and foreign state-owned universities (PTNBH), international partners, as well as national and international figures. Congratulations on the inauguration of the Rector are also planned to be conveyed in the form of videos from various strategic partners of Hasanuddin University.
