Denpasar, February 2, 2026 – The Board of Trustees (MWA) of Hasanuddin University held a meeting with the Provincial Government of Bali through the Bali Provincial Tourism Office on February 2, 2026, in order to develop networks and explore strategic cooperation in the field of tourism.

This meeting discussed opportunities for collaboration between Hasanuddin University and the Provincial Government of Bali, particularly in utilizing the results of research and innovation in higher education to support the development of sustainable, cultural, and competitive tourism. During the discussion, the MWA Unhas explained the potential contribution of the university through strengthening human resources, research commercialization, and applied innovation relevant to regional needs.

The Bali Provincial Government presented an overview of the conditions and challenges facing Bali’s tourism industry, including issues of spatial planning, the environment, and tourism area management. The discussion was constructive and resulted in an initial understanding to open up formal cooperation between Hasanuddin University and the Bali Provincial Government through an institutional partnership scheme.

The MWA of Hasanuddin University hopes that this meeting will be the first step in strengthening synergy between higher education institutions and local governments in supporting sustainable tourism development, human resource development, and enhancing the role of Hasanuddin University in the regional and national development ecosystem.
