MWA Unhas Discusses and Finalizes Work Program for 2026

Makassar, January 22, 2026 — The Board of Trustees (MWA) of Hasanuddin University held a Leadership Meeting (Rapim) to discuss and evaluate the MWA Work Program, located in the MWA Meeting Room on the 4th floor of the Hasanuddin University Rectorate Building, Thursday (1/22).
The Rapim, chaired by the Chair of the MWA, discussed the realization of the MWA’s 2025 work program and evaluated a number of activities that had not yet been implemented. The evaluation served as the basis for the preparation and refinement of the MWA’s 2026 Work Program, so that it would be in line with the duties and functions of the MWA and the strategic agenda of Hasanuddin University as a state-owned legal entity.
During the meeting, it was reported that draft work programs had been prepared for each MWA apparatus, namely Commission I, Commission II, the Audit Committee, and the MWA Secretariat. The work programs were designed to cover routine and participatory activities, as well as to strengthen the role of supervision and the establishment of strategic university policies.
The MWA also discussed several important agendas, including the drafting and refinement of ongoing regulations, such as those related to the foundation, Good University Governance (GUG) instruments, and regulations governing the election of MWA members. These regulations are scheduled for discussion in 2026, with a focus on the procedures for electing community representatives.
In addition, the meeting highlighted plans to explore overseas cooperation, particularly with Saudi Arabia, as well as the importance of planning overseas business trips from the beginning of the year in accordance with the Rector’s circular letter. The MWA also emphasized that the supervision of University-Owned Enterprises (BUMU) is part of the scope of work of Commission II and will be carried out periodically every semester.
Regarding the mechanism for evaluating the Rector’s performance, the Executive Meeting agreed that evaluations would be conducted twice a year, with a flexible reporting mechanism. However, the Rector’s performance report would still be submitted to the MWA and the Academic Senate in the Three Organs Meeting forum as a form of accountability and transparency in university governance.
As a follow-up, the draft of the MWA Work Program for 2026 will be distributed to all MWA members for review, particularly regarding the items of activities and the schedule for implementation. Furthermore, the MWA will schedule a Working Meeting to finalize the draft work program before it is officially adopted.
With the implementation of this Executive Meeting, the MWA of Hasanuddin University reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its supervisory role, establishing strategic policies, and ensuring transparent, accountable, and sustainable university governance.
