The Hasanuddin University Board of Trustees (MWA) is entering a new era of management which is the third period since Unhas was designated as PTNBH in 2017. Established by Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 15036/M/06/2023 Date March 1 2023, there are 19 MWA Unhas members, 6 Ex-Officio MWA Members, 3 Community Representative MWA Members, 8 Lecturer MWA Members, and 2 Teaching Staff MWA Members.

The inaugural meeting was held on Monday, March 20 2023, at the Ministry of Investment BKPM Office (Pontianak Room, 3rd Floor, Building C) Jalan Gatot Subroto No. 44 South Jakarta. This meeting was facilitated by the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia, who is also one of the MWA members representing community figures. The meeting was chaired by the Chancellor of Hasanuddin University with the agenda of electing Unhas MWA leadership for the 2023-2027 period (Chairman, Deputy Chairmen 1 & 2, Executive Secretary & Chair of the Audit Committee).

As a decision of this first meeting, Prof. Dr. Andi Alimuddin Unde, M.Sc. was elected Chairman of the MWA. The structure of the leadership and members of the Unhas MWA for the 2023-2027 period through consensus deliberation with the following structure:

The election of the MWA leadership is an important moment that marks the implementation of the MWA’s duties and functions, especially in the field of supervising the management of Unhas as PTNBH. “Today’s agreement is one of our joint efforts for the progress of Unhas. “This MWA has a collective collegiate leadership concept, so all members also have the same opportunities and can provide opinions,” added Prof. Andi Alimuddin Unde who is a professor in the field of Communication Science at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Unhas. Apart from the Minister of Investment, Mr. Arsyad Rasjid, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Member of the MWA Unhas, also attended, who expressed the hope that the commitment of community leaders as members of the MWA Unhas for the 2023-2027 period would be able to work together to build human capital and advance Unhas and the Eastern Indonesia region in general. .
