MWA Unhas Fully Supports Integrity Zone Evaluation: Focus on Service Implementation and Corruption-Free Culture

Makassar, June 24, 2025 — The Hasanuddin University Board of Trustees (MWA Unhas) has expressed its full support for the field evaluation process of the Integrity Zone (ZI) to be undertaken by three faculties at Unhas: the Faculty of Medicine (FK), the Faculty of Forestry (FHut), and the Faculty of Public Health (FKM). This was confirmed in the MWA meeting that took place on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in the Meeting Room A on the 4th floor of the Rectorate Building, Hasanuddin University.
The meeting was chaired by the Chair of the MWA, Prof. Dr. Andi Alimuddin Unde, M.Si., and featured a presentation by Dr. Andi Kusumawati as Deputy Chair of the Unhas Integrity Zone Team. In his explanation, it was mentioned that all faculties at Unhas had initiated the development of the Integrity Zone since 2022 and began to be evaluated gradually in 2024. However, only three faculties successfully passed the internal evaluation stage and advanced to the national evaluation stage.
The ZI evaluation is based on six areas of bureaucratic reform set by the government and emphasizes the importance of implementing corruption-free, responsive, and high-quality public services. The MWA chair emphasized that the success of ZI cannot be assessed solely through formal documents, but must be seen in actual practice in the field. Therefore, the MWA proposed conducting an objective internal assessment simulation of faculty services. This is intended to directly assess the quality of academic and administrative services from the user’s perspective.
The discussion also revealed that the highest score in the ZI assessment came from the commitment of the leadership. The MWA is also expected to be present and play an active role as a form of moral and institutional support for faculties that are striving to achieve the Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) predicate.
The meeting concluded that the MWA fully supports the field evaluation to be conducted in September 2025 and will conduct direct visits to faculties that have passed the TPI stage. The MWA also encourages the ZI Team to prepare comprehensive service facilities and prioritize service implementation improvements, not just administrative aspects.
