The Board of Trustees (MWA) of Hasanuddin University attended an in-depth interview with the candidates for Rector of Hasanuddin University for the 2026–2030 period, which was held by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) on Monday, December 22, 2025. This online activity is a follow-up stage in the Unhas Rector Election process after the candidates passed the screening stage by the Unhas Rector Election Committee (PPR) and the Academic Senate level screening.

The in-depth interview of the working papers was attended by three candidates for Rector of Hasanuddin University for the 2026-2030 period, in alphabetical order, namely Prof. Budu, Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa, and Prof. Sukardi Weda, which were conducted separately according to the schedule set by Kemendiktisaintek.

The interview was attended by the leadership of the Hasanuddin University Board of Trustees together with the Unhas Rector Selection Committee (PPR) as a form of support and oversight for a transparent and accountable university leadership selection process in accordance with the provisions of the law.

Through these interviews, Kemendiktisaintek conducted an in-depth review of the candidates’ working papers, leadership visions, and strategic programs in order to assess their readiness and leadership capacity to manage Hasanuddin University for the 2026–2030 period.

The Board of Trustees of Hasanuddin University hopes that all stages of the Rector Election will run smoothly and produce a university leader who is honest, visionary, and capable of strengthening the role of Hasanuddin University as a leading and competitive university at the national and international levels.
