Responding to the Challenges of the Digital Era, the Board of Trustees Approved the Opening of Unhas Applied Bachelor Study Program D4 Digital Communication













Makassar, April 25, 2025 – The Board of Trustees (MWA) of Hasanuddin University held a meeting to discuss and consider the proposed opening of the Applied Bachelor Study Program (D4) Digital Communication at the Faculty of Vocational Studies. The meeting was chaired by the Executive Secretary of the Board of Trustees and attended by members of the Board of Trustees and the Task Force Team of the Digital Communication Study Program at the Faculty of Vocational Studies.
In the meeting which took place in Meeting Room A, Unhas Rectorate Building, it was stated that the process of proposing this study program had gone through various internal stages, starting from discussions at the team level, quality assurance agency, academic senate, to the Board of Trustees. The discussion in this meeting focused on non-academic aspects, including the availability of human resources, infrastructure, funding, and operational sustainability of the study program.
In the discussion, the Board of Trustees emphasized the importance of this new study program, which has strong prospects, is sustainable, and is able to meet the community’s needs in the digital skills field. Some of the notes given include the need for improvement in cash flow planning, preparation of a concise and memorable graduate profile, strengthening partnerships with industry, and preparing supporting facilities and infrastructure.
After the discussion, the Board of Trustees in principle approved the opening of the Bachelor of Applied Digital Communication D4 Study Program, with a note that the suggested improvements must be implemented immediately to ensure the readiness and sustainability of the study program.
